Tier 1 Tennis Training is a collaborative effort between two of the areas most accomplished coaches, Larry Graham and Lloyd Johnson. Coach Larry and coach Lloyd have generations of experience developing junior tennis talent and each has worked with and developed junior tennis players at local, sectional, national, and international levels of competition. The Tier 1 training format is a system that is guaranteed to provide each student with the best possible opportunity to elevate their skill level to its highest potential.
Larry is a native of North Carolina where he attended Davidson College. He has over 25 years of tennis experience in the Atlanta area. He has been ranked as high as #4 in singles in Georgia and #4 in singles in the USTA Southern Section and top ten in both regions in doubles. As a coach, he is certified as an Elite Professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) in adult and junior development and is certified professional Level 2 with the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and is a wheelchair certified instructor with the PTR.
He is a USTA Net Generation coach and is Etcheberry certified in tennis kinetics, strength training and movement. He is an International Tennis Federation (ITF) member coach, USPTA certified racquet technician, a member of the United States Racquet Stringers Association (USRSA) and a member of the International Associated of Racquet Technicians (IART). He has been a Women's Tennis Association (WTA) professional coach and has coached local USTA and ALTA teams to more than 15 city championships. Larry has coached juniors to the #1 ranking in Georgia, #1 rankings in the USTA Southern Section and to top 50 national rankings. His students have gone on to play collegiate tennis at such prestigious schools as Georgia, Northwestern, Florida A&M, Wisconsin State, Johnson C Smith University, Xavier, Virginia, and Northwestern.
Coach Lloyd Johnson is a native of Kingston, Jamaica where he majored in chemistry and physics at the prestigious University of Technology (Kingston). He is a certified Level I and Level II tennis professional with the ITF (International Tennis Federation) and the USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry). He is also the Director of Tennis at Camp Cabbossee in Monmouth, Maine and a certified ITF White Badge chair umpire.
Coach Lloyd's experience and accomplishments include: over 35 years of coaching experience in the United States and Jamaica, over 20 years of experience as a tournament director for Tennis Jamaica and for the United States Tennis Association. He has served as the coach of Jamaica's National Junior Team, Junior Federation Cup Team, Junior Davis Cup Team and Jamaica's World Youth Cup Team.
